Maricopa County Counseling Services, Inc. was founded for the sole purpose of providing individuals and families, whose lives have been negatively impacted by substance abuse and/or domestic violence, an opportunity to make positive lifestyle changes. These changes, if made, will enhance the possibilities for personal achievement and familial happiness and safety. Our goal is to offer programs that will motivate our clients to make positive choices in their lives, which will change the current statistics and have a positive effect on the community at large.
We offer a wide range of programs for those referred by the legal justice system, court ordered D.U.I. services and confidential, individual and couples sessions for persons who are self-referred and desire help in learning to cope with their problems. Our therapists utilize a cognitive-behavioral approach to problem-solving.

We are specialists in the field of substance abuse and chemical dependency. Our programs are designed to bring self-awareness to the forefront and help our clients learn and employ new coping skills to deal with problems, without the use of chemicals. Depending upon the client needs, there are group programs as well as individual therapy. Our substance abuse therapists are highly qualified and certified in this field.
For individuals who have been directed by the courts to complete D.U.I. Education Programs or D.U.I. Treatment Programs, both of these services are available. In addition, we can assist in the process of drivers license reinstatement for individuals who are eligible according to state documentation.
We recognize that family violence is a serious and widespread problem in the community. Cognitive behavioral programs are the foundation for providing alternative choices to perpetrators of violence.
We can provide individual counseling for personal issues that you find have prevented you from living life abundantly. Our group sessions include substance abuse and anger management. We provide couples counseling that emphasizes communication skills.
At times, men feel a need to share thoughts and feelings with another man: this service is provided in individual or group. We can discuss any issue that causes you conflict.
Those between 18 – 24 years of age are discovering how to adjust to the adult world: this can be the most challenging time for anyone in this age group. We will provide individual counseling that will help you learn coping skills, decision making skills and communication skills. This age group has the highest rate of depression of any age group; allow us to provide guidance so the adult world is not so threatening.
Many families find that raising a teenager can become challenging: we are experienced in teenage issues. We will provide individual counseling for your teenager and family counseling. We discuss issues such as A.D.H.D., conduct disorder, drug use, sexual issues and school difficulties.
